Laura Martella, an associate at Day Pitney, helped nonprofit organization Interval House with their need for free legal representation by establishing a program in which Day Pitney associates volunteer to represent women in obtaining temporary restraining orders against alleged abusers. Her efforts are among those by attorneys that have helped push pro bono hours higher than ever at Day Pitney. And plenty of other firms around the country also are seeing increased activity on the pro bono front.
